About Underranked
Underranked is a nonprofit launching in Q4 2025. It’s built to give microgrants to young people from underrepresented backgrounds — people who are one shot away from building something real, but have no one willing to bet on them.
There’s no pitch deck, no prestige, and no “proof” required. Most microgrants ask you to show why you’ll succeed. This one’s for people who haven’t had the chance to show anything yet. If you’ve been overlooked, dismissed, or flat-out ignored — this is for you.
Underranked is being self-funded through scholarship earnings by founder Marjia Siddik, who received over €50,000 in competitive awards from organisations like Google, Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, and ServiceNow. She’s choosing to reinvest part of that funding into a system she wishes had existed when she needed it most.
This isn’t charity. It’s redistribution — from one builder to another. Underranked exists because people are building brilliant things in the wrong zip codes, with no safety net, and no early belief. That shouldn’t stop them. Not anymore.
